A party animal I am not

Last night we celebrated Hubby's upcoming birthday with a party.  Hubby's daughter and roommate came into town.  All of our friends came much food and drink were consumed.  Fun was had by all.

I might point out that most of the folks here are just a tad bit younger than me.  And crazy.

I'm not sure what time it was when it was decided by a few of the women that we should go to a club; but it was late.  Way past my bedtime, I'm sure.  Somehow, Hubby's daughter and friend and two of my friends talked me into going.  How??  I'm sure that the wine had something to do with it.  Do you know how long its been since I've been to a club?

Needless to say, Hubby was shocked but agreeable.  So of we went, with a designated driver, of course.

Immediately upon piling into the backseat with three other women, I promptly fell asleep on someone's shoulder.  She was gracious enough to leave me there for the entire ride.

Upon arriving at the club, everyone scrambled out of the car ready to party.  Me?  I promptly laid down on the back seat and fell asleep.  They covered me with a blanket, locked the doors and went inside and, I can only assume, had a wonderful time.

When they came out a few hours later they roused me from my slumber (so they'd have somewhere to sit) and I was sufficiently awake for the drive home.  Which, was not fun, as one of the ladies was getting belligerant with her sister.  This I don't need at 2:00 am.

Hubby was there to greet us upon our arrival at 3:00 am!!!  I hugged & kissed him and went directly to bed.

When I woke up this morning - surprisingly, I felt okay - must have been the long nap in the car.  The girls?  Not so much.

Somehow during the car ride there, my nap and the car ride home I misplaced my phone and a diamond earring.  Needless to say I was more than a little panicked; particularly about the phone.  I had M-C text my friend's husband to search the car.

He didn't find my phone or earring; but here is what he did find.

- My checkbook (how did I lose that?  Must have fell out of my purse)
- daughter's camera
- a pair of gold earrings
- pair of sunglasses.

Finally found my phone - I left it at the house and somehow it wound up on the floor.  The earring?  I'm hoping it turns up - it's my favorite pair that I wear daily.

At least I didn't embarrass myself; unless you count sleeping in a car while others party.  Not my finest moment to be sure.  Apparently, my party days are over, which is fine by me.  I'd rather stay home and go to bed at a reasonable hour.  As an added bonus, I can't lose anything.
