Apparently, I've lost my damn mind (or it's a vlog; I KNOW a vlog! From ME! The last person you'd EVER expect to put herself out there!)

I've done it.  I've finally caved and have done a vlog*.

Yes, ME.

Sometimes, I even surprise myself.

Will I do it again?  Who knows.  It was kinda fun...but next time around, I need to be better prepared.  And less fidget-y (that's probably because I was trying HARD not to have my hands flying around the screen, because - according to everyone I know - I'm usually very ANIMATED when I talk; i.e., I "talk" with my hands).  And have a better hair/makeup artist.....

And, obviously, I need a script.

*to be completely honest, I dithered on and on and on for days about whether to even post it.  But in the end decided, what the heck.  Now let's see how many people un-follow after finding out that I don't "sound" in real life, like I "sound" when I write.....yes.  I'm insane.  No need to mention it; I already know.   *sigh*

  1. I went to it and clicked to watch it, but it says that it is a private video. So boohoo!

  2. Yep, it's fixed. And now I know what you sound like, and I do have to say it was FUN! But you're not going to get me doing that any time soon. (I did hear the clicking but it was way in the background.)

Thanks for the vlog, I'll watch any you put out there, and I really liked the little thought balloons... :-)

  3. Yup, I heard the clicking. Strange, but not TOTALLY distracting.

Most importantly, you sound NOTHING like how you sound in my head! Why is that? Now when we meet I'm going to feel all awkward and weird and try to raise my voice and talk with a slight accent.

I've been thinking about vlogging lately. Maybe introducing the family and putting voices to the names and faces. You just may have convinced me. Maybe.

  4. How, exactly, have you managed to not pick up a tar heel accent???

PS: You look like a baby, but don't let it go to your head.

  5. Not at all how I imagined you would sound. Very brave of you to face possible criticism too.

Not that I would criticise someone so brave.

I don't think I would ever dare to put my "geordie" accent on the net.

  6. You sound lovely, and you look great. Luckily for me the last time I vlogged I didn't show my face! (means not having to brush my hair!)

    I loved the speech bubbles!

  7. LOL! Gigi, I loved it! USE YOUR HANDS and just be you! Why try not to do something that makes you you. And by the way, you are just as cute as you wanna be! More vlogs! You sound EXACTLY how I thought you would sound!

  12. You are perfect, and very brave. I would have needed a glass of wine, or ten. And I would have rambled on about the damn dog or something. You are much too young to be man child's mother, shame on his father! LOL

  15. That is so cool! I'm so impressed with your technological skills (inserting the little quote thingys in there) and I love your voice. You remind me so much of another mom from The Boy's old school.

I didn't hear any clicking, by the way!

  22. OHMYGOD. I LOVED every single minute of this...and you had me at "hi". Honey, you are GORGEOUS...you have the most beautiful eyes! Of course, you know this.
Yeah, I heard the clicking...but it was hard to hear over my gales of laughter each time a pop-up appeared with your commentary on your commentary. What a hoot!
And honestly? You didn't say "Ummmmm" or "Uhhhhhh" ONCE! Priceless!

  23. I've done one vlog in the past, many months ago. I hate how I look in pictures and video though, so the camera isn't pointed at me. Lame? Whatever. lol It was an accent meme.

Anyway, I can so relate to being a better writer than speaker. (Not that you're not a fine speaker.) It's so much easier, especially having a handy dandy backspace key, to write what I'm thinking and feeling than it is for me to say it.

It was nice to see and hear you. I expected more of an accent, but maybe you're not from here originally? :-)

  24. You look pretty damn good without sound. It seems I reconnected something wrong when I re-set up my machine after moving stuff when we carpeted. If you are so darn lovely without voiceless, I'll bet you are dynamite with your voice bubbling out.

Let's see...I gotta' figure all these wires out. I'll be back.

  25. Okay -- got the speaker thing figured out. I have to say you are even more delightful and lovely with the voice. Sigh...

Is this the future of blogging? If so, I need to start searching for a stand-in.
