Even after all these years...we are still laughing at ourselves.

We decided, after much agonizing, to cancel our trip to see my mother-in-law.  We just can't risk it for her as much as for ourselves.  At any rate, my sister-in-law requested that we do a video.  Apparently, she is compiling videos from those of us that can't attend the surprise party for my MIL.

We determined that we would do the video last Sunday.  And all I can say about that is that by the end we were howling with laughter at several of our attempts, some of which I thought you might enjoy.

*crossing my fingers that I got them in the right order...but since Blogger won't let me preview the video portion before hitting publish...who knows?*

I "thought" I knew was I doing...apparently not. In
my defense...we've never used the video/camera
function on this computer before

And who should drop the F-bomb?
The Husband, of course.  The sad part?  We
nailed that "video" - the one that I neglected to
actually record.

He almost mentioned the surprise party...not realizing that this
video would be played during the party.

At this point, we had a serious case of the giggles.

After about a million takes, we finally got through it without laughing...somehow.

And after reviewing these videos, I realized that I am in a SERIOUS need of a haircut.  So much so, that I'm currently eyeballing the scissors...

  1. And how much of the bottle of wine (not seen) was consumed by the time the giggles kicked in? Hope you finally got it right and that your MIL has a terrific Birthday!

    1. Not a drop, surprisingly enough! It was still too early for happy hour. :-)

    2. You know what they say - it's 5 0' Clock somewhere!

  2. Oh for fucks sake, step away from the scissors!
I loved the outtakes. You guys are so darn cute and your hair looks awesome!
    Thanks for sharing. XO

    1. Thank you, Suz! Currently, I'm resisting the siren call of the scissors...

  3. Too funny! For sure that would be Rick and me, too. Love these attempts!

  4. I loved hearing your voice and seeing your face! What a treat! That was fun.

I am so sad you can't go visit your MIL. I didn't realize your trip was for a surprise party; I am extra sad for you.

Also - what Suz said! I love your hair!

    1. Thank you, Nicole. Yes, the party is to be a surprise one. But we just couldn't do it. Luckily, my MIL is one understanding and sweet lady; she completely understands why we called it off.

  5. Lovely !
The smiles alone are worth it.

  6. Omg, I love this so much! You and your husband are so adorable. It felt like I was right there with you two on the porch. :)

  7. You guys are too funny. I hate being on video. We installed a retractable screen door and I sent a video of it to Oldest at school... hubs closed the door, apparently did a little dance behind the screen, and opened it. I didn't notice his dance moves until I sent it to him. *sigh*

  8. Could you two be ANY cuter?!?!?1 These are hilarious. Glad you were able to "be there" digitally if not in person!
