As we last discussed, I gussied myself up for a dental appointment...only to show up three days early.
Last night, as I prepped for bed, I reminded The Husband that I needed to be up and ready to go this morning. Accordingly, he set his alarm for his usual time - which would give me PLENTY of time to get ready to be "public" ready.
You can see where this is going, can't you?
This morning, I woke, stretched, looked at the clock and jumped out of bed asking, "Aren't you going to work today?!"
This lead to him jumping out of bed, cursing...because apparently he had an early meeting starting in twenty minutes. Which meant that my preening would have to wait. It appears he set his alarm for 6:00 pm and not 6:00 AM.
The difference between the two is...to put it mildly, HUGE.
He made his meeting. I made my appointment. But there was no time for preening. I showed up with minimal makeup, hair thrown up into a pony tail, of sorts and in a sore need for caffeine.
Am I surprised?
At this point, no. I am no longer surprised by anything.
So the whole day has been out of whack...which is the way of the world when your day starts off with you running behind.
Here's hoping tomorrow will be smoother sailing.
Oh my goodness. It's like getting all dolled up to go out and you see NO ONE. Then the next day, you look like hell and you see everyone! Hey, at least it got your heart pumping for a little while. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's the way the world works, it seems. When you're ready and he is, too, the day starts off just right. Other days, like today, you're playing catch-up the whole day long. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, you had your dress up day, just 3 days too early. And the fact that you both made your appointments on time is truly amazing, and proof that you don't need all that extra time to get ready. Still, there was all that anticipation.....
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter came home from college last month to go to an appointment. She got there and they said, "oh, it's next month". Gah. :)
ReplyDeleteStarting the day like that is the worst! And you are right, whenever it happens like that you spend the entire day feeling behind.
ReplyDeleteNoooooooo! I am glad that you both at least got to where you needed to be on time. But what a rough start to the day!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that. Curly took a lot of grief lately from older siblings who were like WHY CANT YOU WAKE UP ON TIME? SET AN ALARM. Then she admitted to me thst she did set an alarm and was so confused. Later it went off in the pm and I was like YOU USUALLY ONLY MAKE THST MISTAKE ONCE. She's 13. Is this the husband's 1st time making thst mistake? Or do I need to tell Curly life continues to be challenging. ;)
ReplyDeleteArrrrrrghhhhhhhh! No! Not after all the preening for the appointment that wasn't!
ReplyDeleteI have an appointment for the same thing this week - thanks for reminding me to set my alarm!
ReplyDeletewas it smoother sailing?
