Thus far, I can say this.....he seems nice. He didn't come in all blustery and with a let's do it MY way attitude. For that he gets a gold star. Especially as there are some attorneys (who shall remain nameless) that I know that would come in with exactly that sort of attitude.
He also gets points for listening to what I have had to say and, so far, seeming to value my input - again we refer to some attorneys who think that the "staff" is comprised of witless fools who do not know what they are doing and must be led by the hand in every little task.
He hasn't been completely thrown to the wolves yet. But I have a feeling all that's about to change as I've noticed the Big Boss just throwing things in there late this afternoon and pretty much taking a hands off approach - but then again, he's a big boy who's been around the block a time or two and should know what he's doing by now. And? There's that
Both of the other women that made our tight, little group are on vacation this week (thanks ladies - note the sarcasm) but one couldn't stop her curiosity. She sent me a text first thing this morning asking what he's like. What could I say? At that point, I'd only known him for eight hours and ten minutes. But by tomorrow afternoon, I might be able to give her a better picture.
But somehow, no matter what, I still don't think he's going to be able to walk in those heels.....but who knows. Stranger things have happened.
Who knows, Gigi... you might start really liking the way he fills his Italian loafers!
ReplyDeleteA good boss is hard to find. Let's hope he is at least in the same neighborhood as the best boss ever.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I've witnessed some men who are pretty good heel walkers. Granted, they are also dressed in drag and only come outside when the sun goes down, but still.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope he's got the balls to walk in those heels, Gigi. Or whatever. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is promising, that he came in without the big attitude. Perhaps I'm just pessimistic, but my experience with attorneys is that MOST, not some, would have stalked in with their do-it-my-way attitude!
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Always so difficult when a good boss leaves. A good one makes work a pleasure, and a bad one can ruin everything about your day. Sounds like this one is going to be okay, and once he finds out that you, too, are "one of the good ones", work will be pretty sweet again.
